Are you planning on staying in the Netherlands for a short period of three months? Then you are obliged to request a Short Stay Visa. This is often referred to as a tourist visa or a Schengenvisa. For a Short Stay Visa you must have a passport and a copy of your health insurance. Moreover you will have to indicate the location and duration of your stay. Your visa request may be denied. Guarantee declaration
Prior to your travel you are required to appoint a person in the Netherlands as your guarantee. This may be the person who you will reside with or who will financially support you. The person who acts as your guarantee is obliged to request a travel insurance on your behalf. The insurance company will then be responsible for your medical costs, in case something happens.
